Biography:
Ryan Wilkinson, EdD, ATC, currently serves as Director of Education for a small physician-based medical sub-specialty society housed at Association Management Center (AMC) in Chicago, IL. Specific to athletic training, he has served in various roles within athletic training higher education including serving as clinical athletic trainer, preceptor, faculty member, clinical education coordinator, program director, and department chair within multiple CAATE-accredited programs, including Concordia University Wisconsin, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and Trinity International University. In addition, he has served the state, district, and national athletic training associations in a variety of roles, including President of the Great Lakes Athletic Trainers’ Association (GLATA), President of the Wisconsin Athletic Trainers’ Association (WATA), and Chair of the NATA State Association Advisory Committee. He has been honored with the WATA Distinguished Service Award, the GLATA Outstanding Educator Award, the NATA Young Professionals’ Committee National Distinction Award, the NATA Athletic Training Service Award, and the NATA Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer Award.
Wilkinson earned his bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training from Concordia University Wisconsin, his master’s degree in Athletic Training from Indiana University, and his doctorate degree in Education with an emphasis in Healthcare Education from Nova Southeastern University. He currently resides in the greater Chicago area with his wife Kate and daughters Michaela and Avery.
