NATA REF Board of Directors

NATA RESEARCH AND EDUCATION FOUNDATION

COMMITTEE PURPOSE

 The Foundation is organized exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes, including, 1) the  promotion, encouragement, and advancement of research and education in the practice of athletic training as it relates to health care; 2) organizing, presenting, and sponsoring Foundation seminars, forums, panels, and lectures concerning the physiological, medical, and epidemiological, and related aspects of the practice of athletic training; and 3) making distributions to organization that qualify as exempt organizations and to other qualified individuals and entities.

COMMITTEE CURRENT EVENTS/PROJECTS

 20/20 Campaign—Fundraising project whereby the Foundation is asking membership for $20 for 20 years since the Foundation was initiated. This will be promoted through the end of 2011.

CURRENT COMMITTEE GOALS

 The NATA Foundation will:

• Be viewed as a philanthropic priority for Athletic Trainers and related health professionals, and, as such, be the premier source of funding for the athletic training scholarships and research.
• Be the primary source of best practice information for Athletic Training professionals and for consumers.
• Secure, manage, and distribute funds to accomplish the goals of the Foundation consistent with best practice.
• Enhance brand awareness among Foundation stakeholders.
• Ensure key constituents have an awareness, understanding, and passion for the work of the Foundation through effective and efficient communication.
• Maximize investment returns.
• Effectively govern and appropriately monitor in a manner consistent with best practice.
