Document and Memorabilia Retention Policy
- Documents and memorabilia that are significant to the history of the Great Lakes Athletic Trainers Association shall be catalogued, preserved andmaintained.
- Paper documents should be dated with a number 2 soft lead pencil in the upper right corner of the document. Documents will be placed in archival quality folders and retained in archival quality containers. Examples: Executive Council Agendas, Presidents’ Agenda, Power Point, Correspondence, Financial reports, Invitations to special events, Scholarships, etc.
- Pictures should be dated and identified on the reverse side with a number 2 soft leaded pencil. Pictures will be stored in archival quality photofile sleeves. Examples : CD disk labeled with a printed copy of photographs
- Memorabilia should be placed in an archival quality storage bag and the bag labeled on the outside. Examples: Posters, Clinical Symposium materials, Video Tapes, Attendee gifts, etc.
- Study and research of documents by individuals shall be at the approval of the History and Archives Chairperson and the Secretary. During the course of study, the documents may not be removed and must be returned to their original location. The study/viewing must be supervised. Copying of documents is prohibited with out the written consent of the Great Lakes Athletic Trainers Association.

Mission Statement
The mission of the History and Archive Committee shall be to collect, investigate,
catalogue, and preserve Great Lakes Athletic Trainers’ Association documents and
memorabilia.
