Project: “Hoosiers Helping Hoosiers”, IU Athletic Training Students sent food / other items to Iraq for US military, worked with John Schrader’s son, Jacob, who spent 14 months in Iraq
(MN) Alison Morley, ATC….Gustavus Athletic Trainers’ Association, Gustavus Adolphus College
Project: Promoted athletic training profession on campus / newspaper article
(OH) Laura Boucher, ATC…Capital University, Columbus, OH
Project: Student Athletic Training Club promoted the AT profession via booths, flyers on campus….Goal was to clarify what the scope of practice is for athletic trainers / services provided.
(WI) Ryan Wilkinson, ATC…Concordia University
Project: Ryan along with students Ryan May, Greg Strege, Chris Helm, Christian Venegas and Jacob Thomas organized / coordinated “Milwaulkee Bucks Night”…athletic trainers were recognized during the game …display promoting the profession at the game, flyers, etc.
(WI) Honorable Mention….Mark Gibson, ATC…U. of WI @ LaCrosse
Project: Mark along with students Molly Uhrich and Ashley Rocky organized a 5 K “Spring Thaw Run” at the U. of WI (LaCrosse)…..promoted the AT profession by raising awareness about REF…money raised was donated to REF…TV story
(OH) Honorable Mention … Ric Fail ATC – Greater Columbus Athletic Trainers Society
Project: Gathered Athletic Trainers from the Columbus Ohio area to go on WBNS 10TV’s Wall to Wall Sports Program. The ATC’s were part of the on-air audience and were recognized as celebrating National Athletic Training Month. They were part of a show that also showcased a new helmet designed to better protect our troops in combat.
