GLATA members in good standing may nominate a colleague for a GLATA or NATA award.

GLATA Awards

The window to nominate for GLATA Honors & Awards is closed at this time. 

All nominations for GLATA Awards (1-4) are due to the GLATA Vice President no later than September 15 of the calendar year preceding the subsequent March Annual Meeting. The Vice President will chair the GLATA Honors and Awards Committee, which includes the State Representative of from each GLATA state or designee. Awards will be presented at the Annual Meeting each March.

GLATA Golden Pinnacle Award

Purpose: To recognize those members who have provided outstanding leadership to the Great Lakes Athletic Trainers’ Association. This is considered the highest honor for a GLATA member.

Nomination Deadline: September 15

Application Deadline: October 1

Criteria:

  • Nominees must be active members of the GLATA for a minimum of 15 years preceding nomination.
  • Nominees may be nominated no more than every five years. Any unsuccessful nomination will be retained and reconsidered for one additional year after the original nomination.
  • Nominees must have served in a leadership capacity for the GLATA for a minimum of five (5) years. This may include serving as an officer, committee chair/coordinator, educational program chair, etc.
  • Nominees must have exhibited exemplary leadership in their service role, significantly advancing the mission and goals of the GLATA and the profession of athletic training.
  • Nominees must hold a valid NPI.

GOLDEN PINNACLE NOMINATION FORM


GLATA Dedicated Service Award

Purpose: To recognize those members who have demonstrated a superior level of excellence in managing and completing project(s) with the goal and outcome of creating a positive image of the GLATA and the athletic training profession. 

Nomination Deadline: September 15

Application Deadline: October 1

Criteria:

  • Nominees must be active members of the GLATA for at least five (5) years.
  • Nominees must have chaired or directed a specific initiative to further the goals of the GLATA.
  • Nominees must have taken direction and created a positive image for the GLATA while assisting the GLATA with its vision.
  • Nominees must have demonstrated measurable outcomes of their efforts. This may be in the form of a new program or initiative, print materials, educational experiences, etc.
  • Nominees must have shown evidence of involving and leading other members in the process of developing the project.
  • Nominees must hold a valid NPI.

 DEDICATED SERVICE NOMINATION FORM

GLATA Honorary Membership Award

Purpose: To recognize those non-AT individuals or corporations who have demonstrated significant contributions to athletic training which have resulted in a positive impact on GLATA.

Nomination Deadline: September 15

Application Deadline: October 1

Criteria:

  • Nominees need not be GLATA members. Individuals who are Associate, International, or Supplier Members of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association may be nominated.
  • GLATA certified members are not eligible for this award.
  • No minimum years of service to GLATA are required.
  • Nominees must hold a valid NPI.

HONORARY MEMBERSHIP NOMINATION FORM


GLATA Outstanding Educator Award

Purpose: To recognize those members who have significantly contributed to the education of GLATA members through athletic training education, mentorship, educational program development, or other educational activities.

Nomination Deadline: September 15

Application Deadline: October 1

Criteria:

  • Nominees must be active members of the GLATA for at least five (5) years prior to nomination.
  • Nominees must show specific evidence of making a significant educational contribution to the GLATA membership through athletic training education, mentorship, educational program development, or other educational activities.
  • Nominees must hold a valid NPI.

OUTSTANDING eDUCATOR NOMINATION FORM


GLATA Student Senate Preceptor Of The Year

Purpose: To recognize an outstanding preceptor within the Great Lakes Athletic Trainers’ Association for their hard work and influence on the students within the GLATA.

Nomination Deadline: September 15

Application Deadline: October 1

Criteria:

  • Nominees must be GLATA members.
  • Nominees must be a preceptor within the GLATA supervising an Athletic Training student at an accredited Athletic Training program.
  • Nominees must display student leadership and have contributed to student growth and development.
  • Nominees must hold a valid NPI.

GSS PRECEPTOR OF THE YEAR NOMINATION FORM


Bobby Gunn Student Leadership Award

Purpose: To recognize one of the true pioneers in athletic training; to give deserving students assistance in attending NATA’s Annual Meeting.

Application Deadline: March 31

Criteria:

  • Applicant must be GLATA member.
  • Applicant must be a student within a Professional level AT Program (undergraduate or graduate)
  • Applicant must hold a valid NPI.

Continuing Education Assistance Grant

Purpose: To provide GLATA members with the opportunity for financial assistance to attend the GLATA Annual Meeting and Clinical Symposium.

NATA Awards
