NATA and GLATA Committee Vacancy Announcement: Governmental Affairs

GLATA President, Scott Lawrance, is welcoming applications from District IV members who are interested in serving on the NATA and GLATA Governmental Affairs Committees.

Qualifications:

  1. NATA and GLATA Member
  2. National Provider Identification (NPI) Number
  3. Leadership Experience

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversees and coordinates activities relative to legislation, political action, and regulatory activity within the States.
  2. Annually reviews and analyzes all State regulatory bills for the States.
  3. Provides direction and assistance to the members in the areas of legislation, political action, and regulatory activity.
  4. Works collaboratively with the Education Coordinator to provide educational programming regarding legislation, political action, and regulatory activity for the members.
  5. Coordinates and develops projects for the members that will enhance areas of legislation, political action, and regulatory activity.
  6. Communicates, educates, and assists with States’ efforts to obtain support from other medical professions.
  7. Works collaboratively with States, NATA Governmental Affairs Council, and the BOC, Inc. regarding legislation, political action, and regulatory activity seminars.
  8. Manages all financial considerations of the legislative process and grant applications by the States in coordination with the Finance Committee and Executive Board.
  9. Provides a written report to the President for presentation to the Executive Board at all scheduled meetings.
  10. Serve as an appointed member of the NATA Governmental Affairs Committee and support initiatives within the committee as outlined by the chair, including but not limited to participation in communication, conference calls, and face to face meeting(s).
  11. Provides additional duties as assigned by the President and/or District Director.

Start Date: March 15, 2018 or at a time mutually agreed upon

Chair Selection: Evaluated by the President, President-elect, District Director, and District Director-Elect. Appointed to GLATA position by the President with approval of the Executive Board. Appointed to the NATA position by the District Director.

Chair Term: Appointed for a two-year term and may serve more than one term.

Chair Evaluation: Chair will be evaluated by the Vice President and the NATA GAC Chair prior to a request and/or consideration for re-appointment.

Committee Composition: The GLATA GAC is be composed of seven members including the Chair. Members of the committee are selected by their state and approved by the Board. The NATA GAC is led by a Chair and includes one District representative from all NATA Districts.

Executive Board Liaison: Vice President for GLATA matters and NATA District Director for NATA matters.

Application: In addition to a resume/vita, please send a cover letter that describes why you are interested in serving as the GLATA GAC Chair/District IV Representative to the NATA GAC.
