After serving in the Marines, Pinky attended PT school at Stanford

Became the head athletic trainer at Purdue from 1949-76, and taught athletic training

Pinky also was an athletic trainer for the College All-Star Game and the US Olympic teams

Pinky served as the Executive Secretary of NATA for over a decade

He is credited for the transformation of athletic training from an occupation to an allied health profession
