GLATA Annual Meeting 2023 Learning Objectives

• Identify foundational and advanced manual therapy specialties within athletic training clinical practice. Identify fundamental quality improvement tools and techniques used within athletic training. Appreciate the facts about cannabinoids (THC, CBD, CBG, CBN, etc.) and the proposed benefits and risks. Understand cultural awareness and cultural proficiency and apply best practices in providing and educating about equitable healthcare. Interpret the intention behind implementing yoga's physical and biopsychosocial elements within an athletic setting. Synthesize the steps in preparing wounds for closure in clinical practice. Develop a return to sport testing battery for the upper extremity guided by the population they treat and equipment available in clinical practice. Distinguish between prophylactic and treatment utilization of breathing exercises in patients with inducible laryngeal obstruction. Define psychological ownership and differentiate between psychological ownership over the athletic training profession and an athletic trainer’s employing organization. Evaluate areas of weakness in clinical professional practice through reflection and self-assessment and develop strategic interventions for continued professional growth. Demonstrate effective airway, breathing, and circulation management in the equipment-laden athlete and management and removal of protective athletic equipment.  Understand when and how to utilize load management strategies for isometric, isotonic, concentric/eccentric, heavy-slow resistance, heavy load eccentrics, and plyometrics Differentiate between interprofessional education and clinical practice (IPECP_ and identify strategies to incorporate IPECP into clinical practice Recognize biopsychosocial signs related to movement (i.e., movement-related anxiety, pain-related fear, etc.) and observe signs of protective and non-protective motor responses to pain. Identify the signs and symptoms of anabolic androgenic steroid use and be able to safely intervene and educate others on the signs, symptoms, and potential side effects of anabolic androgenic steroid and dietary supplement use.

1. Cancellation request received four weeks prior to the start of the scheduled meeting = Full Refund minus $10.00 processing fee. 
2. Cancellation request received two weeks prior to the start of the scheduled meeting = 75% Refund. 
3. Cancellation request received one day prior to the start of the scheduled meeting = 50% Refund. 
4. Cancellation request received after the start of the conference = No Refund.
